You can’t fake local. So, we didn’t.
Some campaigns start with a brief. This one started with a plane ticket. When Onvida Health asked us to create something different for their next campaign, we knew “different” wouldn’t come from stock footage or surface-level insights. It had to come from Yuma itself.
So, we went all in.

Taking it all in.
Before we ever picked up a camera, we walked. Downtown Yuma gave us our first real read on the place: its pace, its people and its personality. We explored, observed and struck up conversations wherever we could. Because the best insights don’t come from asking questions. They come from paying attention.

We’ll have what they’re having.
No chains. No safe bets. Just local spots recommended by locals. Meals turned into moments where we heard stories, picked up on nuances and got a better sense of what makes Yuma, Yuma. Culture isn’t something you research. It’s something you experience.

Go to jail (on purpose).
To understand the present, we spent time in the past. A visit to Yuma’s historic prison wasn’t just a history lesson. It was context. Grit. Resilience. Character. The kind of things that shape a place over time and subtly influence everything from tone to storytelling.

ATVing offroad but on track.
One night we hit the desert with our client as the heat finally let up and Yuma came alive in a different way. Riding through open terrain under the stars gave us something no brief ever could: a deeper connection to the place, the people and the spirit behind the brand.
Yuma isn’t subtle. It’s bold. It’s expansive. It’s alive. And that energy? You can’t fake it. You have to feel it.

Lights. Camera. Yuma.
So by the time we rolled cameras, we weren’t outsiders anymore. We cast local talent, shot in real locations and let the environment lead. Every moment was shaped by what we experienced there, grounded in the people, the place and the rhythm of Yuma itself. Because when the work is rooted in something real, people can tell.
Creating authentic work takes more than a good idea. It takes showing up. Digging in. Getting a little dusty. And sometimes, it even means becoming Yuman.
